Run #1027 - Out with the 01

The New Year's amble

January 01, 2002

Hares: No Fucking Idea here....
Where: Does it really matter ?
Attendance: 35

Due to technical difficulties, this is the second draft of the New Years Eve run of the hash without any of my notes. So, just like sex this will be short and painless. We ( 35 brave hashers without any real plans) circled up to what I think was announcements, new boots and marks but who could see through the ice clouds forming from our breath. We then found trail and thankfully arrived at a warm regroup. The best part was watching the 24 hour retro station and listening to the kid hashers sing all the songs, a testament to the fact their music sucks.

At the on in, we enjoyed another round of down downs and were joined by 2 time challenged hashers and Midol who was wallet challenged. The analversaries included Lay 'em In Snow reaching 50 runs, Not Too Deep who achieved 100 runs after 7 years of hashing and a happy birthday to Purple Twist. Several acts of stupidity and sexual offenses were celebrated and of course thanks to the hares Twisty, Hardly, Not Too Deep and Cock Tale. The rest of the evening was spent eating and consuming beverages (everyone succeeded in this area).

I asked each hasher to describe what 'Auld lang syne' meant to them and also to divulge their New Year's resolution. Naturally this would be a lot easier if I had my notes, but I remember Hash Test singing "old legs dying" at the stroke of midnight. As for resolutions, the kids claim to 'get off their asses this year', most hashers vow to drink more, some even plan to get lucky, who ever that is and P'Tooey and Lakey resolve to not organize any more 1000th events.

Personally I am hoping to win the Ms. Calgary pageant this year so my speech will go something like "I wish for world peace" and if the judges don't get the message I will tell them to "shut the fuck up". I don't even want to tell you what my talent is.................

Onon

Have a happy year of hashing
