Trinidad was. Very hot. So humid that Florida felt dry. A very good time and good party. Saturday's run was one of the best this scribe has ever been on. Much of the rest of the Interam was a bust. The Trini's are extremely anal, didn't like skits, singing, flashing, urged the hash to drink sensibly, had no water or beer stops on any trials er trails. A trail that they said would take an hour took 2 ½ hours. A trial that was supposed to take 1 ½ hours took 4 hours. You get the picture? Note: no beer or water stops. The Interam Grandmaster told the US hashers (450 of the 480 attending) to fuck off and go home. Left us wondering why they bothered to host it in the first place. Hashers however make their own party, and a good time was had by all. We just ignored the Trini's and went our own way and had a great time.
Trinidad is very mountainous, and very green. The rain forest was incredible! Let the person in front of you get ahead by 20 feet, and they just disappear into the jungle. Let's you FROP all the time. Just go slow enough so you lose the person in front, and you're a FROP! Great system.
The next Interam will be held in Shitsburgh, er Titsburgh, er Gritsburgh, er Pitsburgh, aaah Pittsburgh - ya that's it - Pitts with 2 t's. It will be on the September long weekend in 1999. More details to come later.
